Geothermal Systems - Heating & Cooling
A geothermal system professionally designed and installed by R&R Heating & Air Conditioning is the most efficient and environmentally friendly heating and cooling system available today. Geothermal heating and cooling uses the relatively constant temperature of the earth to heat and cool homes and businesses with 40% to 70% less energy than conventional systems. While conventional furnaces and boilers burn a fuel to generate heat, geothermal heat pumps use electricity to simply move heat from the earth into buildings, allowing much higher efficiency.
The most efficient fuel-burning heater can reach efficiency around 95%, but a geothermal heat pump can move up to 4 units of heat for every unit of electricity needed to power the system, resulting in a practical equivalence of over 400% efficiency. Use our geothermal savings calculator to see how much you’ll save!
Additionally, the lifespan of a ground source heat pump (20-25 years) used in geothermal systems is much longer than a conventional furnace (around 10-15 years), and the underground loop field investment can last a whopping 50-100 years.
We proudly design & install geothermal systems from WaterFurnace, the leading manufacturer in the industry. We’re an IGSHPA Accredited Installer (International Ground Source Heat Pump Association) and have been designing & installing geothermal systems in the Spokane / Coeur d’Alene area since 1985. We are also Energy Star Certified and a proud member of RESNET, the nation’s leading home energy efficiency network.

How It Works
Benefits of Geothermal
✔ Reduced Operating Costs – When installed properly, geothermal systems can save you up to 70% on your monthly heating, cooling and hot water bills.
✔ Longer Lifespan – Systems are designed to last 20-25 years, much longer than the expected 10-15 year lifespan of a conventional system.
✔ Free Hot Water – Systems have the capability of capturing reclaimed heat during heating and cooling modes and using it to heat domestic water.
✔ Environmentally Friendly – According to the U.S. Department of Energy and the EPA, geothermal systems are the most environmentally friendly way to heat and cool your home.
✔ Peacefully Quiet – Unlike ordinary air conditioners or heat pumps, there’s no noisy outdoor unit to disturb your outside environment or your neighbors.
✔ Superior Comfort – In the winter, geothermal systems provide warm air without the hot blasts associated with ordinary gas furnaces. In the summer, they deliver cool, dehumidified air.
