How to start a Career in HVAC
To begin a career in HVAC, there are typically two career paths in the HVAC field, installation or service. If you are interested in becoming a HVAC Service Technician you will need to enroll in an accredited school program. After completion of the program, you will be able to begin your career as a Maintenance Technician, providing hands on working experience with HVAC equipment. After acquisition of appropriate licenses and gaining industry knowledge you will then proceed on your career path as a Service Technician, focusing on Commercial or Residential, or both.
Technical skills for this profession are offered through colleges, technical schools, industry training or apprenticeship programs where credential and/or degrees can be earned.

Job Hunting during a Pandemic
Opportunities are still out there if job seekers know where to look. Check the websites of companies you are interested in working to see available positions.
Prepare for the Interview
While video interviews aren’t new, they’re likely to be more widely used in the COVID-19 era. Job seekers should expect that at least one round of interviews, and perhaps all of them, will be conducted remotely.
Prepare for video interviews as they are quite different from in-person conversations, be sure to practice before the real interview. Pay attention to your posture, eye contact, tone of voice, sound and lighting quality, and backdrop—all essential details not to be overlooked.
It’s also more important than ever to do your homework about the company you’re interviewing with. Companies really want to see if job seekers have done their research to understand what the company does.
