“I'd like to share an experience and "heads up" for homeowners. Recently had a pre-heating season inspection from Cougar Mechanical that indicated that the heat exchanger in my 15 year old gas furnace was defective (cracked) and recommended replacement of the furnace (about $13,000). Because of the cost I asked R&R for another bid and to repeat the inspection to ensure repairs/replacement was necessary. Randy came to the house the next day and arranged for a technician to also come and conduct an inspection of the heat exchanger. No cracks or leaks were detected and their equipment showed there was no defect with the heat exchanger.
